Rua dos Correeiros Archaeological Site (NARC) is one of the nominees for the European Museum of the year 2024

The European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) was founded in 1977 under the auspices of the Council of Europe, with the aim of recognising excellence in the European museum scene.

Opened in 1995, the Rua dos Correeiros Archaeological Site (NARC) was classified as a Portuguese National Monument in 2015. Closed between 2019 and the end of 2021, it reopened with a new museography, designed by Atelier Brückner for the Millennium bcp Foundation. Located underground, between Rua Augusta and Rua dos Correeiros, the archaeological site exposes archaeological and urban remains of the city, from the Iron Age to the Pombalino Period, bearing witness to around 2,500 years in the history of the city of Lisbon.
