BoCA – Biennial of Contemporary Arts is a cultural event with the aim of stimulating the production of new creations and events in the sphere of contemporary art in Portugal. Its first edition, held in 2017, covered a network of partnerships with 40 national and international institutions that promoted contemporary creation through four lines of action: production, programming, diffusion, education and artistic training. National and international artists presented their installations, performances, videos, and other works in the cities of Lisbon, Porto, Castelo Branco, Braga, Viseu, Guimarães, Coimbra, Montemor-o-Novo and Lagos.
