National Coach Museum

The National Coach Museum conceived an 80 pieces exhibition with the help of prestigious national museums, such as the Navy Museum and the National Museum of Ethnology and National Library of Portugal, to evoke the departure of the Portuguese royal family to Brazil entitled “Royal Family Departure for Brazil – 1807 Greeting Card “. This exhibition also included works related to the stay of the Royal Court in Rio de Janeiro between 1808 and 1821.
The exhibition inaugurated by the Lisbon City Hall in commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the D. João V Embassy to Pope Clement XI, hosted the Ambassador’s Car, the Ocean Car and the Coronation Car of Lisbon and other relevant artifacts from the reign of King João V , one of the most striking periods of Portuguese diplomacy.
