The Rui Osório de Castro Millennium bcp Foundation’s purpose is to promote innovative projects in the pediatric oncology sector. In 2017 the winning project was “The role of procaltitotin and other variables in the change from, intravenous antibiotic therapy to oral, in children with oncologic disease and febrile neutropenia”, by Joaquim Duarte, from the Pediatric Service of the Portuguese Institute of Oncology Francisco Gentil de Lisboa . The 2nd edition attributed the award to Carla Marques, clinical psychologist of the Pediatric Hospital of Coimbra, a project in the area of online cognitive rehabilitation, in children and young people surviving tumors of the central nervous system.
