June is the month to celebrate the city of Lisbon. But June, is also the month of sardines. Those that drip on bread and those that glitter on paper. For the eighth year in a row, we launched the challenge where everyone is invited to decorate the popular sardine silhouette.

Of the 3,726 proposals received from around the world, the best are now on display at the Millennium Gallery under the motto “Save the Sardine!”.

This year, we wanted show how sardines are one of the richest foods, an important resource in the economy of the sea and also to let people know a bit more about these characters that make you smile everytime you cross path with them.

Thanks to all of this, we understood that sardines are, at least, saved in memories and our palate since forever.
